San Francisco surpasses Manhattan in media real estate prices, says data site PropertyShark

Home sale prices in San Francisco have easily surpassed those of Manhattan according to PropertyShark.com, an online information service for real estate industry professionals and homebuyers.

The median sale price for a home reached almost $1.2 million in the second quarter of the year, beating the Manhattan median price of $955,000. San Franciscans paid more for square feet $915, which is up 10 per cent from the previous quarter, and condos were worth more with a median price of $1.1 million. The biggest sales spike was seen in luxury homes (selling for over $3 million), which were up 24 per cent over the previous year.
