Tracking online sales referred by Facebook ads is relatively easy, but the social network also wants to take advantage of the data customers are handing over to brick and mortar stores when they shop offline. Datalogix is a startup that helps Facebook use the data from store loyalty cards to target you as a potential viewer of its targeted ads. It’s not just Facebook where they can help with targeting, they let companies target users across display, video, mobile and social.
They claim their data includes “90% of U.S. household and more than $2 trillion in consumer-level purchase data”, which is both scary and powerful in terms of their ability to target consumers based on their actual purchases.
The company is already working with the biggest names in online media and may be in talks to go public.
