When Mashable created Social Media Day 5 years ago, they did so to recognize the massive cultural shift across the globe towards the use of social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, and the like. Events are held all over the world on June 29th and 30th in honor of the day including one in Brooklyn hosted by Mashable.
Another in Dallas on the same days, DFW Rocks Social Media, will be hosted by social media guru Lissa Duty, and headlined by Neal Schaffer (“Maximize Your Social: A One-Stop Guide to Building a Social Media Strategy for Marketing and Business Success“, Rutgers University teacher)
The events range from casual social events with drinks and music to full conferences with speakers on different topics.
