Overview
- What can I do with Tweepler?
Tweepler acts as a Twitter utility to process new Followers quickly and easily. The application consists of 3 areas that we call "Buckets" The first "Bucket" is the Unprocessed Followers "Bucket". This shows you a listing of all the new people that have started Following you that you have not currently categorized. The other two "Buckets" are the Follow "Bucket" and the Ignore "Bucket". The Follow "Bucket" is where you put Unprocessed Followers that you have decided you wish to Follow back. The Ignore "Bucket" is where you put the Unprocessed Followers that you do not wish to Follow back. We have found that by creating this Ignore "Bucket" organizing your Twitter followers becomes a much more painless task than if you do this through the Twitter.com website.
Login and Initial Loading / Import
- Why do you need my Twitter username and password?
In order for YOU to get the most out of Tweepler we require passing your Twitter password to Twitter so we can pull back proper information and display accordingly. The password is encrypted and we DO NOT store them.
- Why does the initial loading / import take so long?
We need to get all the information on who your Following and who is Following you so we can import it accurately. It usually takes on average 1 minute per combined total of 1000 followers and following. It is just the initial import that may take some time. After you come back to use Tweepler for the second and consecutive times, we will only need to update data that is new since you last logged in.
- Why does the loading appear to hang at 99%?
It only appears this way because it has finished importing everyone and at this point it is just finalizing things and preparing to take you into the application. We ask that you simply wait patiently and you will be redirected to the main application when the system is ready.
Unprocessed Followers "Bucket"
- What is the Unprocessed Followers "Bucket"?
When we refer to the Unprocessed Followers "Bucket" we are referring to the main page of the application where you can see all the new people that have started Following you. Here you make the decision to Follow them back (moving them to the Follow "Bucket" and Following them on Twitter, OR Ignoring them, moving them to the Ignore "Bucket", archiving them out of the way for less clutter, keeping your Unprocessed Followers "Bucket" clean.)
- How can I view more details about a New Follower?
To view more details about a New Follower you would click on the More Details link. Detailed information is instantly displayed within the application for you such as: the last 3 tweets by that user, Average Tweets per Day, Total Tweets, How many people they are Following, How many Followers they have as well as the Following to Followers ratio. All valuable information when making your decision on what "Bucket" to place them in.
- How do I Follow an Unprocessed Follower?
To Follow an Unprocessed Follower, from the Unprocessed Followers "Bucket" you would click on the LEFT arrow pertaining to the row for that Follower. This will show you a slight animation and you will see them being moved into the LEFT Follow "Bucket". This action instantly makes you begin Following them on Twitter.
- How do I Ignore an Unprocessed Follower?
To Ignore an Unprocessed Follower, from the Unprocessed Follower "Bucket" you would click on the RIGHT arrow pertaining to the row for that Follower. This will show you a slight animation and you will see them being moved into the RIGHT Ignore "Bucket", archiving them out of the way and reducing clutter in your Unprocessed Followers "Bucket".
- How can I see more then the first 10 New Followers?
To view more then 10 of your new Followers you would click on the "Next 10" link. This is located at the bottom left of the initial 10 Followers we show you.
Follow "Bucket"
- What is the Follow "Bucket"?
The Follow "Bucket" is where you move Followers that you wish to Follow back. This action instantly makes you begin Following them on Twitter.
- How can I view the people I am Following?
There are 2 ways to view the people that you are Following: 1) You can click on the Following sub menu option which takes you to the Follow "Bucket". 2) On the Unprocessed Followers page you can click on the "View All" link that shows on the LEFT side of the page, under the Follow column.
- How can I view my Followers?
Followers can be mixed in-between all 3 "Buckets". In the Ignore "Bucket", all of these people are Following you. In the Unprocessed Followers "Bucket", these are all people Following you as well. In the Follow "Bucket' it is harder to tell who are Following you because these are a mix of people your Following and they may or may not be Following you back. We are looking into adding an easier way to determine this.
- How do I stop Following someone?
To stop Following someone you would go to the Following "Bucket" by clicking on Following in the Sub Menu or from the Unprocessed Follower page you simply click on the View All link under the LEFT Follow column. When viewing the Follow "Bucket" and you have found the person you want to stop Following simply click on the Ignore link. This will un-follow them on Twitter and move them into your Ignore "Bucket."
Ignore "Bucket"
- What is the Ignore "Bucket"?
The Ignore "Bucket" is where you move Followers that you do not wish to Follow back. Moving a Follower to this "Bucket" will archive them out of the way for less clutter, keeping your Unprocessed Followers "Bucket" clean.
- If I ignore someone will they see it?
No they won't. Do not get Ignore confused with Twitter's Block functionality. Ignore is a "Bucket" we created to help keep things organized and clean. You may get new Followers each day and some of these you will evaluate and determine that you don't want to follow back. The Ignore "Bucket" is just the place for these Followers.
- How do I remove an Ignore?
If you have Ignored someone and later decided you wish to Follow them you can go into the Ignore "Bucket" by clicking on the Ignoring sub menu link or from the Unprocessed Followers page clicking on the View All link which shows up under the RIGHT Ignore column. Once viewing the Ignore "Bucket" you would simply find the user you wish to Follow (using the search) and then click on the Follow link. Once you click the Follow link the user will be removed from your Ignore "Bucket" and moved to your Follow "Bucket". This action instantly begins Following this person on Twitter.
Sort By and Search
- Why should I use the Sort By?
The Sort By is a very quick way to rearrange what you are seeing on the screen sorting your data in a way that may be of more use to you. When viewing your Follow "Bucket" it may be useful to sort those you are Following by the Number of Followers they have or in the Unprocessed Followers "Bucket" the default Sort By Newest Followers is particularly handy.
- How can I Search?
In order to Search you must by viewing either the Follow "Bucket" or the Ignore "Bucket". To initiate a search begin typing what you are searching for and click the Go Button. Your search results are displayed instantly.
